The most famous way to bridge the gender gap is through Gender Budget Initiatives. First step towards this was taken by Australia, South Africa and Philippines followed by other developed and less developed countries. India has also taken initiative from its Eighth Plan onwards. This paper is a modest attempt to measure the effectiveness of Gender Budgeting as a tool for women empowerment.
